You can tell studying medieval literature is starting to get to you when you drop a bowl and shout "Jesu Christu!"

Also, I pushed a client past her writer's block in the Writing Center yesterday by reminding her of Sherlock Holmes' long fingers and hook nose. That is, she had to describe her junior prom, but she kept getting hung up on dresses, so I reminded her that Holmes (I knew from small talk that she'd read Doyle) is never described all that well most of the time. We only get a few of his significant details. One of the few tutoring sessions that was satisfying in any way, really.
